People's 'World's Most Beautiful Woman' 2017: Julia Roberts' style through the years

Updated

America's favorite "Pretty Woman," Julia Roberts, was named People's "World's Most Beautiful Woman" for the fifth time on Wednesday -- so we thought it only right to take a moment and look back on her style throughout her storied career.

We went all the way back to the '90s -- and we found two common threads. Black and menswear (ie. boyfriend blazers). The "Eat Pray Love" actress will occasionally throw a pop of color or pattern into the mix -- like at the 2014 SAG Awards or the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival -- but for the most part, you'll find that she relies on everyone's favorite, universally flattering color. Oh, and she rocks a good pantsuit (see: 2015 SAG Awards).

Perhaps her best look, though, was when she stunned in Armani Privé at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival -- while hitting the carpet barefoot. If you ask us, it's precisely unabashed moments like those that make her beautiful.

Scroll through to see how Roberts' style has evolved over the years:
