How to get the prettiest festival hair -- just in time for Coachella

Festival season is finally upon us and we are ready to get our groove on!

Boho-chic dresses, glowy makeup and colorful, pretty hairstyles are just some of the essentials we're reaching for in our closets (and vanities) this year.

With the help of Garnier's celebrity colorist Nikki Lee, we have two festival-inspired looks you can try right at home. Perfect for rocking at your favorite festival or a night out on the town, you can create these looks in a few easy steps!

Crown Dutch braid with blue extensions

OPTIONAL: We added waves to our straight hair using a 1-inch curling iron, but if you have curly or wavy hair -- skip the iron and go au natural.

Step 1: Before you start on the braid, color a light blonde clip-in hair extension piece using Garnier Nutrisse Ultra-Color Blue Denim by following the directions on the box.

Step 2: After the clip-in extension is ready to use, part the hair in the front that you will use for the side Dutch braid. Clip in the blue hair extension under the hair and start to braid the hair towards your ear.

Step 3: Secure the braid with a clear elastic band and pull on the braid to give it a messy and undone look. Done!

Ultimate messy auburn fishtail braid

OPTIONAL: We find that second or third-day dirty hair works the best for this look!

Step 1: Color two (if you have short to medium-length hair, one extension should be enough) brown clip-in hair extension pieces using Garnier Nutrisse Ultra-Color Light Intense Auburn by following the directions on the box.

Step 2: Separate the top part of the hair from the bottom and clip in the hair extension under the hair. Start a loose Dutch braid going towards the back of the head and once you reach ear level you want to switch to a fishtail braid until the end.

Step 3: Secure the braid with a clear elastic band and pull on the braid to give it a messy and undone look. Done!
