It may be only 2017, but it's already been a big year for Chip and Joanna Gaines. This week, it was announced that our favorite HGTV couple would be getting a "Flip or Flop" spinoff -- Jo will be hosting "Behind the Design" to detail her creative approach to their home makeovers.

But after a few controversies these past few months, we think it's about time we revisited the Gaines' adorable love story. Even though both Joanna and Chip attended Baylor University, they didn't cross paths until later, in Waco, Texas. Joanna's father owned a tire shop in town. Chip often visited, hoping he would meet the pretty girl in all the pictures.

Finally, they met. "At first, I couldn't believe how kind Chip was -- he had kind eyes, and made me laugh a lot.I knew he was the one because I knew I could trust him," she gushed. And the rest is history.
