Everybody's going wild over Barack and Michelle Obama's 'power lunch' outfits

Updated

The former first couple turned aheads in New York City on Friday, when they stepped out for lunch with U2 frontman, Bono, at Upland in Gramercy.

Barack and Michelle's appearance was met with applause and cheers -- and photos of them exiting the restaurant has much of the internet staring with googly eyes. In short, the duo's "power lunch" style is on point -- and quite in sync. In fact, they both kept their ensembles casual, leaving the first few buttons of their tops undone.

As Vogue puts it, "Leaving the top two buttons of his crisp white oxford shirt open, the former president seemed to be easing back into public life with a more relaxed but still polished air."

Take a look for yourself:

The former president sported a perfectly tailored suit, while the former FLOTUS donned high-waisted, black pants, a color block blouse, a grey trench coat, stiletto pumps and a petite black handbag. Some say they were "glowing."

Obama's post-presidency style has been a topic of conversation of late, especially after he stepped out in casual attire and a tote bag last week in D.C. -- leaving some people to wonder if he's sending a message of sorts (not unlike the one Vogue alluded to in the statement above).
