Kate Middleton admits that Princess Charlotte 'is the one in charge'

During the unveiling of a war memorial to honor those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan in London Thursday, Duchess Kate Middleton reportedly had a "mummy chat" with the wife of a Royal Marine commando, Samantha Burge.

Burge has two daughters who are close in age to the Duke and Duchess' two children, Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 1. According to People, she admitted that she was craving a "mummy talk," saying, "I wanted to talk about something else than [war]."

The mother also told reporters that Middleton shared a little secret about the royal family dynamic:

"She said that Charlotte is growing up really fast. She is the one in charge."

We wonder how 3-year-old George feels about that. The royal mom did make sure to say that the two kiddos are indeed "very good friends." Phew.

The duchess stepped out for the event with Prince William, Prince Harry and the Queen in a wide brimmed, navy blue hat (that we admittedly aren't completely on board with) and her famous, go-to Michael Kors twill coat.
