Homeless mutt becomes newest member of Franciscan monastery
Call him friar pup.
A stray schnauzer mutt has been taken in by a monastery in Bolivia, where he received not only a new home but a Franciscian habit as well.
His life is all about playing and running," friar Jorge Fernandez told The Dodo website. "Here all of the brothers love him very much. He is a creature of God."
The silver-and-black dog had been living on the street before a local animal rescue organization called Proyecto Narices Frias (Cold Nose Project) picked him up and made him available for adoption to the monastery.
