The 5 most 'sociable' cities in the world revealed

For those who travel alone, the warmth of the natives is as important as the sites.

When planning your next solo trip, you might want to consider one of these cities that were voted the most sociable in the world.

The global hostel booking site Hostelworld took a look at the behavior and attitudes of over 12,000 people from 39 major cities in 28 countries.

The results showed which are the cities in which people are friendlier and more open to entertaining tourists.

Number 5 is New York City. Even though New Yorkers are known for their sass, the city that never sleeps will still show a foreigner a good time.
Number 4 is another American city: Boston. Despite its bitter winters, bean town likes to be the hostess with the mostest.
Number 3 is Chicago. The windy city has a great selection of hostels making it an easy choice to make.
Number 2 is Stockholm. Sweden’s capital seems to have the perfect combination of culture and sociable people.
Last but far from least, the number one spot goes to another Swedish city, Gothenburg. The country’s second largest city was voted the most sociable in the world. Apparently locals there will find any excuse to party.
