Loving vet makes incredible move to comfort neglected dog

Many people can't help but agree that veterinarians have one of the hardest jobs. Like any doctor, vets face heartbreaking challenges every day. It's life or death for many of these animals -- vets help change lives.

One vet from Georgia went above and beyond to care for one of its furry patients. Graycie, a neglected pit bull, was found wandering the streets, sick and starving. The emaciated and timid dog was brought to Granite Hills Animal Care and examined by longtime vet Andy Mathis.

The puppy was so traumatized that she refused to eat -- so Dr. Mathis decided to help her out a bit. He sat on the floor of her cage and ate out of a dog bowl to comfort Graycie. The touching moment was shared to Facebook last year, where it went viral.

Slowly, Graycie put on weight and learned to trust the shelter. And even though she hasn't been adopted, she's treated like quite the queen at Granite Hills. Below, you'll see the shelter celebrating Graycie's one year mark with a delicious Valentine's Day meal.

With a little TLC, Graycie is now happy and healthy. We're hoping she finds her forever home soon!
