Stunning photos of one man's trek through the Hameem desert
On February 24th a Getty photographer captured one man's trek across the Hameem desert, just 170 kilometres west of the Gulf Emirate of Abu Dhabi. During the trek an Emirati man can be seen leading his camels through the soft sands. The photographs have an incredible painterly quality to them, making them quite relaxing to look at.
The texture and the rolling valleys of sand created by the wind blowing look otherworldly. While many of the photos look as if they were taken on a distant planet, several of the other images look as if they're miniature recreations of a gorgeous landscape.
While the Hameem desert may not be on your bucket list of places to visit, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to marvel at these breathtaking images.
