Victoria's Secret Angel Sara Sampaio dishes on Valentine's Day trends

Valentine's Day is nearly here, and we turned to an expert to find out the biggest trends for the romance-filled holiday: Victoria's Secret Angel Sara Sampaio.

She's busy running around New York Fashion Week at the moment, but we grabbed a few minutes of her time to hear about the trends she's expecting women to gravitate towards this year, what she considers to be the most romantic thing couples can do for one another, and when she herself feels the most beautiful. We also asked whether she prefers candy or flowers, but we'll get to that later.

It's no surprise that the most popular colors for Victoria's Secret on this holiday are pink, red, and black. You'll see pink and red hearts everywhere on the 14th, and black will always be sexy. But what Sara told us about red couldn't be more true -- if you want a color to make you feel bold and confident, red is your girl.

"At the end of the day it's what you feel beautiful in, and if yellow is your color, then you should be wearing yellow! But I feel like red is associated with love. I personally love wearing red lingerie on Valentine's Day, because it's such a bold color that when you wear it you're making a statement. Red is that color if you want to be confident — it gives you that extra feeling of sexiness."

So when does Sara feel the most beautiful? When she wakes up. "I feel really beautiful in the morning. Usually you're relaxed, you have your loved one next to you, it's so cozy."

And while you might be planning a big dinner or date night on the town for February 14th, you don't have to go all out to have a romantic evening. We asked Sara what she thinks the most romantic thing couples can do for one another is -- and it's pretty simple.

"Love each other." Sara said, "Taking time to be with each other, and really having quality time is the most romantic and important thing in a relationship."

Also -- if you want to know the way to Sara's heart, she'd choose candy over flowers. (Our kind of gal.)
