NYFW: J.Crew Fall/Winter 2017 was 'heritage rebooted'

Updated

J.Crew's Fall/Winter ready-to-wear collection featured real and raw beautiful people, just as they did last season. Models of all ages, gender, sizes, ethnicities and backgrounds stood together in a bright, open space in downtown Manhattan. It was one of the most candid shows at New York Fashion Week -- and the crowd loved it.

The women's collection featured a nod to classic Scottish symbols. Enveloping different textures like plaids, tartans, kilts with cotton, tulle and velvet, J.Crew brought a fresh face to its classic designs. Deep blues, navy hues and pastel colors were frequent.

As for the men's collection, J.Crew stuck with it's familiar rugby sweatshirts, button downs and athletic wear. Stripes and knitted pullovers were a reoccurring trend for its menswear. Ties and sweaters featured little "woodland creatures", blazers paraded oversized buttons and wide-leg khaki and denim emulated this throwback to the classic "1983" theme.
