NYFW: Thakoon refreshes snowy New York with ready-to-wear Spring 2017 collection

Updated

The start of New York Fashion Week was met with a (thankfully short-lived) blizzard Thursday, but the show went on for designers scheduled to show off their work.

At Thakoon in the evening, getting a front-row "seat" was anybody's game. The presentation took place on the perimeter of the large space every 15 minutes for an hour, giving guests multiple chances to take a closer look at the ready-to-wear spring pieces. And by the end of the third presentation, the ground was gorgeously covered in rose petals.

Not to mention, if you didn't make it to the front of the crowd in time, the show was magically reflected on the ceiling mirror. What will they think of next?

As for the spring collection itself, if you had no interest in adding a trench coat to your wardrobe before seeing the presentation, Thakoon changed your mind. Blame (or thank) the floral accents. Red and light blue were common color themes and ties (whether on crop tops and skirts or scarves and coats around the models' waists) were everywhere you looked.

Our favorite pieces? The trench coats (of course), the simple scalloped sweater and the silky forest green, wide leg pants (they're making a comeback, everyone!).
