Lady Gaga channels Audrey Hepburn as the new face of Tiffany

Even if you can't name the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl, watching the game on February 5 won't be a complete bust: Lady Gaga's not only playing the Half Time show, but she'll star in a commercial for Tiffany & Co., set to debut during the broadcast.

It's not as weird as it sounds: Gaga's been named as the face of the brand's fashion line, Tiffany HardWear, and the 60-second spot will forgo big stunts and over-the-top effects in favor of an understated message of femininity, rebellion, and power—a mission that fits Gaga's recent trajectory well.

The campaign is part of Tiffany's ongoing Legendary Style series and definitely fits the bill: former Vogue creative director Grace Coddington served as creative director, it was photographed by David Sims, and Gaga herself channels a modern-day Audrey Hepburn in all black and a sleek bun. It's also, predictably, New York-centric.

"In New York, you're born knowing that Tiffany is the best, and that it is where the magic happens. The brand is definitive and iconic, yet continues to push and evolve with the times. To me, Tiffany represents timeless American jewelry." Gaga said in a statement.

The Tiffany HardWear Collection will be available on Tiffany.com beginning May 2 and in stores April 28. Limited and exclusive pre-orders will be available starting February 5.

This is the first time Tiffany has advertised during the Super Bowl but, according to Vanity Fair, the company has a history with the football game, having crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, awarded to the winning team, since the game's inception.
