While Melania Trump may be well-known for her taste in jewelry, her husband might not necessarily have a passion for fashion. You're not alone if you've noticed that President Donald Trump doesn't wear his wedding band.
Even in his first and second marriages, Trump rarely sported a ring. Many men forgo their wedding rings if they're married, especially men of high social standing, "in order to broadcast an availability that their spouses may know nothing about," said the New York Times.

Like Trump, Prince William doesn't wear his wedding band. Neither does Jay-Z or Will Smith.
If you're a famous face, though, the general public knows if you're married or not. New York psychotherapist Jeanne Safer believes that the men who chose to not wear a wedding band is a way for men to make a statement. "It may unconsciously signal availability for adultery, either actually or in fantasy," she said to New York Times.
Safer believes that this non-band move may symbolize something bigger, like "an inability to fully commit or a desire to be free."
Prince William doesn't sport a band because he "isn't one for jewelry." In Britain, it's "unusual" for men of a certain status to wear one.
According to the New York Times, Trump's representatives haven't commented on his naked finger -- but it seems to be an ever-growing trend here in the States.
