These women have come forward to inspire others after they lost a dramatic amount of weight.
These proud Americans are telling their stories in Peoplemagazine's annual "Half Their Size" issue on newsstands Friday.

"I was too big, I was so mortified, it was one of the most embarrassing days of my life," she told Inside Edition.
Off all things, the motivation behind Jordan's weight loss was a trip to Disneyland. The "happiest place on Earth" became a turning point for her when she tried to get onto the Indiana Jones Adventure ride and couldn't fit.

Her transformation has turned into a new career as she became a nutritionist."I started studying nutrition and I went back to school. I was my first patient," she said.
She even returned to Disneyland, and easily fit on the Indiana Jones ride.
