2017 is upon us and I, for one, am ready for it! I know a lot of people poo pooed on 2016, but it was one of the best years of my life. I got engaged to the love of my life, took some amazing trips – Jamaica, Cozumel, Spain, Big Sur, Blowing Rock, Charleston, San Fransisco, Disney World, Beaufort, Asheville, and more!

As a HUGE proponent of investing in classic pieces and saving money on trends, I wanted to share with y'all my favorite purchases of 2016 – these are items I wore/used regularly throughout 2016 and will throughout 2017 and beyond. Just click on the title of each piece to shop! I'll follow up with the items I have my eye on for 2017 next week.

Pink Hunter Boots

I have had red Hunter Boots for years and reach for them time and time again. I found some black ones at a local consignment store, but just never found myself wearing them. But when I saw the pink sand Hunter Boots, I knew they had to be mine. I received them at the beginning of December and have worn them so many times already! I was worried the pink wouldn't match my Winter clothes, but it looks perfect with white, tan, gray, black, and even red. Remember that Hunter Boot sizing is a little funky – be sure to check out this post for how to pick the perfect size.

Louis Vuitton Alma BB

Ok, I know this is pricey but I honestly don't think I will ever need another crossbody bag until the day I die. I was in the market for a chic tan small bag and originally had my eye on the Gucci Disco bag. But after reading reviews and seeing how the bag wore out over time, I bit the bullet and paid a little extra for this one. The Alma BB is large enough to store everything I need, but small enough to be comfortable for a night out. The silhouette is so classic and I have carried it a hundred times and it still looks good as new. If it is anything like my Neverfull MM, it will actually look nicer over time!

Blank NYC Suede Moto Jacket

I know y'all have seen this jacket literally everywhere, but that is because it is so dang universally flattering. It comes in quite a few colors, but the cognac was love at first sight. It is real suede for under $200 which is virtually unheard of! Plus the cut looks great with just about everything. I am wearing the size medium which is perfect to layer over chunky sweaters, but a size small would have worked just as well.

Sam Edelman Victoria Boots

I can honestly say, I have never loved a pair of boots more in my life. I have tried Tory Burch and Michael Kors and while both are fine, these Sam Edelman boots feel like they were tailor-made to my specifications. I have short legs and wide calves, but I love the slouchy look. Unfortunately, that was difficult for me to achieve before finding these babies. I love how the wide opening gives my legs a thinner appearance. The color matches everything in my closet and they are oh so comfortable! I always pair these with a sweater dress for an easy, polished look.

Black Ray-Ban Aviators

I have loved Ray-Ban's classic aviator shape for years and originally purchased the blue and gold mirrored style. But while I still have those on heavy rotation, I have to say I feel a lot cooler in these. I know that sounds dorky, but it's true! Something about the black-on-black design just reads badass 😉

UGG Boots

How did I not hop on this bandwagon years ago? The things are the warmest, comfiest stinkin' boots and I ain't ever taking them off my feet. I am literally so freakin' cold all the time and these honestly fix that. You could just about run around in a tank top and shorts in the wintertime as long as you have a pair of Uggs on (lol). But seriously, I live in these during Winter weekends. They're perfect for running errands, walking the dog, and all-around lounging. I wear them rolled over about midway for a snow boot look. This particular silhouette is sold out a lot of places, but I found them still available at Kicks USA.

Express Barcelona Tank

These are the only tank tops you will ever need! I honestly think I wore them in about half of my blog posts this year. I own the black, white, pink, and striped versions and if that isn't proof of how much I love these tanks, I don't know what is. First off, they are the perfect tunic length – not too long, not too short. The v-neck is just low enough to be a little sexy without being slutty. And if both of these weren't enough, they are reversible! My black becomes gray, my pink becomes coral, and my white becomes gray.

Patagonia Better Sweater Pullover

I honestly wear this pullover a little too much. It really is the perfect sweatshirt – warm, comfy, and never looks sloppy for a day of running errands. I may even sleep in it sometimes too! I love the fitted, streamlined look of it, but it doesn't skimp on warmth. It is a thick fleece, but still washes well and maintains its shape. It definitely runs small though, since it is a fitted pullover. I am usually a medium in pullovers and am wearing a large in this.

I renovated my bedroom earlier this year (see post here) and needed some way to keep my jewelry organized, yet easy to see. I am one of those people that if I can't see it, I won't wear it. And since I had been using a wooden jewelry armoire, I couldn't see crap! I had heard of Glambox Makeup Holders after they were all over Instagram, but was blown away when I found their GLAMLuxe Jewelry Holder with side handles. I searched high and low for a similar acrylic box, but couldn't find anything that even remotely compared. This one is truly worth the money. I can now easily organize all of my jewelry and there is a perfect place for everything. For longer necklace, I purchased this acrylic t-bar standfor only $27!

T3 Whirl Trio

I have no idea how I did my hair before this. I have been a fan of T3 ever since trying out their Mini Miracle set that includes a travel-sized blow dryer and straightener that works better than my Chi. The T3 Whirl Trio is a flipperless curling wand that features three different sized barrels – a 1″ straight barrel, a 1.5″ straight barrel, and a 1.25″ – 0.75″ tapered barrel. Not only is the white and gold design beyond chic, but the ceramic wands get so hot that your curls will last for days. But even with the extra heat, I never feel like it is damaging my hair like so many products do. It actually leaves my hair shinier and healthier looking! My go-to is the 1.5 barrel for big loose curls.

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse

I cut out fake baking a few years ago and cannot believe I spent so much on spray tans before switching to St. Tropez! As a gal of Irish, Swedish, and Norwegian descent, I am straight up pale as a ghost. But thanks to St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse, no one's gotta know it! I slather this on my body every 3-4 nights and my face every 1-2 nights with the St. Tropez mitt and it dries instantly. Within minutes, I can put my face makeup on and it really makes my contouring pop.

Chanel CC Cream

For $58 Chanel CC Cream seems a bit pricey, but I promise you it is worth every penny. Working in NASCAR, we spend a few days a week working outside. My make-up always looked great in the morning, but would basically melt off my face during a hot day even if I used a setting powder and spray. I noticed that a girlfriend's skin always looked fabulous and she said it is because she uses Chanel CC Cream. So obvi I had to try it. She was right! It provided more coverage than the Bare Minerals BB Cream I had been wearing, but blended perfectly with my skin and super-extended the life of my face make-up. It has so much bang for the buck because a little goes a long way. I purchased my first tube back in July and I am just now about to run out!

Laura Mercier Powder

This powder is just tough to beat. I had read the five-star reviews and heard all the YouTubers raving about it, but until I tried it myself I didn't believe the hype. Well I get it now! It sets my face makeup and under-eye concealer solid and neither moves for the rest of the day. The powder is translucent too so it provides a flawless finish without looking cakey or settling into fine lines. I don't leave home without applying it!

Now I would love to hear from y'all! What were your favorite clothes, products, tools, and make-up of 2016?
