Lifestyle expert Louise Roe brought tears to friend's eyes with 'unexpected' gift

Updated

The old adage says that the holiday season is all about giving, not getting -- so T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods launched their "Bring Back the Holidays" campaign, aimed at bringing people together and spreading unexpected joy.

"This campaign embodies exactly what I love about the holidays -- creating and cherishing meaningful moments," Haylie Duff, one of the famous faces the brands tapped for the initiative, said.

And lifestyle expert Louise Roe (you seriously have to check out her picture-perfect Instagram) couldn't think of three better stores to stumble upon the unexpected for your loved ones, saying:

"Everybody kind of dreads Christmas shopping, and you end up running around to different places -- or if you're doing it online, you shop for the best deal and you end up wasting so much time comparing things and not making a decision. Whereas you can go [to] one spot and have everything there. And I think the mix of products [at T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods] is good, because this campaign is very much centered around gifting to those who don't expect it, and I really love that. It's a personal joy for me."

As she dished on the many unexpected goodies she found for her friends and family in the three stores, Roe revealed that her hairstylist actually got tears in her eyes after opening beauty products Roe had purchased for her.

"It was so sweet. She genuinely did. I think when someone doesn't expect something, it's even more gratifying for you."

Talk about a meaningful moment to remember!

Another pleasant surprise in the stores for Roe? "So much cashmere!" She even gifted herself a pair of cashmere gloves from Marshalls.

"Happy Christmas to me," she said laughing.

Don't worry, though -- she also bought her mom a leather pair!

"She loves wearing those and wears them to shreds, so she needs a new pair."

So, it's safe to say that if you're racking your brain for last-minute gifts for your friends and family, you're bound to find an unforeseen gem at one of these eclectic retailers. Just expect the unexpected.
