Ina Garten updates roasted chicken recipe for new cookbook

By Josh King, Buzz60

For Ina Garten's new book, "Cooking For Jeffrey," the Barefoot Contessa put her focus on recipes her husband of nearly 50 years would truly enjoy.

In an interview with People, Garten says her hubby's favorite food is "all kinds of roast chicken," and with that in mind, she decided to give her time-tested chicken recipe a simple twist.

By surrounding her classic bird with roasted radishes, she elevated her already tasty recipe to the next level.

She says she was inspired by her travels abroad... "I was invited to a dinner party in Paris and someone made turkey with roasted radishes... They're so good cooked."

Garten has long been the darling of the cooking world, offering foolproof recipes and tips for entertaining with simple elegance.

Her cooking philosophy has always been the simpler the better and this recipe is no exception.

Garten told People, "Food is not about impressing people," adding, "It's about making people feel comfortable, and nothing makes people feel more comfortable than like a family dinner like roast chicken."

She's not wrong!
