Construction worker gets a modeling contract thanks to social media

In 2014, the previously-unknown Jeremy Meeks' mugshot went viral after the Stockton Police Department in California shared the photo on Facebook:

Meeks was convicted in 2015 for felon weaponry charges and released this year. Soon after, he was given a modeling contract and now works with White Cross Entertainment.

Now, another male model has been discovered thanks to social media ... but this one does not have to serve jail time.

26-year-old Nicky Libert, a construction worker from Amsterdam, rose to fame after a fashion photography student shared his photos on Twitter:

Like Meeks', Libert's photos soon went viral, garnering interesting reactions:

Just several days later, modeling agency Elite has signed Libert.

Buzzfeed reports that Elite has also backed supermodels Cindy Crawford and Gisele Bundchen.
