Website reveals best time to buy flights for cheapest fares

If you're dreaming of your next vacation to cure your holiday hangover, you may want to hold off on booking a flight.

According to the website Hopper, you should wait until at least January.

The reasoning is to avoid the high-priced, holiday-packed season from now until January. Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanza, Chanukah and New Years can really rack up flight fares.

According to Hopper, a typical domestic flight in the U.S. costs approximately $214 in October. However, this price can climb up to $338 until the end of the year.

Once the year 2017 comes around, those prices will drop. Instead of booking early, take the time to explore where you'd like to go and book your airfare in January.
