Mom's hilarious note about 'shutting down' living room for Thanksgiving goes viral

Updated

The holidays are coming up, which means extended families will come together and celebrate. There may be extra stress on whomever is hosting, and pressure to make sure everything is perfect. This mother is certainly feeling it, and wants to make sure her living room is spotless -- at the expense of her children.

Twitter user Nick Denbow was surprised to find his living room walled off with tape -- and a note explaining why. He shared it on Twitter:

This room has been cleaned for the holidays and is officially CLOSED until Thanksgiving.

Special permission will be considered for you to sit on my clean furniture and / or walk on my clean carpet only after the following conditions have been met:

1) you have showered and are dirt and odor free from top to toe

2) you are wearing freshly laundered clothing

"*If permission is granted — NO food or drinks are permitted at this time!

Thank you!

Denbow's mother had cleaned the room for holiday company and refused to let her children come in and mess up her hard work. "Okay," Denbow said, "How my mom just gonna close down the living room for a month?"

The note quickly went viral on the site with thousands of likes and retweets -- likely because people can relate to both Denbow and his mother.

Regardless if you can relate, it's certainly a funny representation of holiday craziness everyone goes through.
