Train like an Angel: See how Josephine Skriver and Jasmine Tookes work it out

Updated

Josephine Skriver and Jasmine Tookes are two of an incredibly gorgeous and fit roster of Victoria's Secret Angels, and we just got a little insight into how they do it. Sure, they're born beauties, but they also work -- constantly, and so incredibly hard -- to maintain their bodies and health for their work.

We caught up with these two at The Dogpound gym in the TriBeCa neighborhood of New York City for a quick chat and -- duh -- a workout. The Angels showed us their partner training session and how they mix strength training with cardio.

But what's their favorite workout to do? Squats, for Jasmine.

"My favorite workout is squats," she told us, "That's my go-to to really build up the muscle in my legs and my butt, and it kinda works your upper body in a way, too -- I love it. I really see a lot of growth in that one move."

"I also like anything that involves body resistance," Josephine added, "whether a squat, or holding a sit up against a wall, a plank -- anything where you have to hold yourself up. All of those just build and tone your entire body."

As lingerie models, working out is just about as intrinsic to their lives as sleeping or eating. But leading up to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, they're pretty much working out every day. When the occasional rest day does come along Jasmine takes the time to do one important thing:

"Sleep!"

But closer to the show, she said, there pretty much aren't any rest days. "I try to work out every day, so on my rest day I'll do a bit of a lower-impact workout, maybe a pilates class or yoga. Something that doesn't use too much strength."

If there's one thing both Jasmine and Josephine kept insisting, it's that drinking enough water is everything. The most important part of their diets (though leading up to the show they increase their protein intake so they can maintain their muscle mass) and what they credit for keeping their skin clear year-round.

"It's that," Jasmine said, "and taking your makeup off right when the day is done, because we're exposed to so many different products."

"We're both into facial masks lately, especially when there's so much going on. They're easy to carry on a plane when we're traveling. You can put it on before bed or in the morning, and it's just a quick emergency fix."
