We're accustomed to seeing ultrasounds from pregnant women -- but what about X-rays of pregnant dogs?

A Reddit user shared a photo of an pregnant dog's X-ray and you can clearly see all her babies:

The photo became incredibly popular, garnering thousands of comments.

One user said, "I'm stuck in between beautiful and really, really creepy."

Another user raised concern about taking X-rays of a pregnant animal -- but according to a veterinary hospital employee, it is completely safe. "We actually take x-rays of pregnant dogs all the time in veterinary medicine," they said. "It's a common practice to count the number of puppies so the owners can know what to expect."

An ultrasound for dogs, it turns out, is rare. The result of the dog X-ray is pretty incredible to see.
