The easiest apple cider recipe ever
Over the past several weeks I have had the pleasure of taking part in AOL's Fall Food Awards. Several food bloggers and myself were sent the latest cooking gadgets, cookbooks and ingredients to try and review. The winners of the Fall Food Awards were recently announced and you can find them here!
While apple picking still remains on my list of things to do this fall, I could not pass up the chance to utilize these in-season fruits in a one-pot cider! Today I am using my favorite Fall Food Award product to bring you spiked apple cider. Simply pop the ingredients in the kettle, press the button and voila! This is perfect for fall entertaining and will save the host some prep work.
Bella Electric Ceramic Kettle:
First off I absolutely loved the design of this kettle. My kitchen has a white, clean aesthetic with pops of color and personality. This kettle fits in seamlessly. The feminine design makes it a great gift for a girlfriend especially with the holidays coming up. I am a big tea drinker so warming water in the mornings is so easy when all you have to do is fill it with water and press a button. The ceramic design is so chic that you can leave it on your countertop instead of storing it away after use.
These silicone lids are an excellent alternative to aluminum foil or plastic wrap used to seal leftovers in the fridge. I especially loved how easy these are to clean and reuse again and again. I also used them for cooking on the stovetop and in the microwave as suggested. An excellent investment and very multifunctional.
- 4 cups apple juice
- 2 cups rum
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tbsp all spice
- 1/2 orange, thinly sliced with rind intact
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1-inch peeled ginger
- Add all ingredients to your kettle and press the button to heat it up.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving!
