Smith, a psychology grad student, had tried crash diets in the past but they did not work. This time, she decided to make small changes throughout an extended amount of time. She stopped eating after 8:00 pm and tried to eat out less. Smith also started tracking what she ate.
By making these lifestyle changes, Smith was able to lose 110 pounds before her wedding. She said motivation is key, and she would try different things to keep herself going.

I've been asked to post my story a couple of times, so here goes.
The left picture was on my proposal day on July 18, 2015, and the right was my bridal shower on August 6, 2016. When Matt proposed last year, I saw my pictures and didn't even recognize myself. My whole adult life, I have struggled with my weight, but this was my highest. I had let myself go and didn't even realize how far I had gotten. On that day, I made up my mind to make a change. I was tired of hiding in pictures, getting winded walking across a parking lot, skipping out on activities, feeling lazy, and most of all being embarrassed of myself. No ONE thing made me how I am today. It was a combination of about every health and fitness option I could find. So don't think there's some magic pill, wrap, gym membership, meal, vitamin, app, surgery, diet, workout, waist trainer, book, hypnosis, shake, powder or anything else that will just do it for you. It's finding your own way and using the tools that work for you. It's making the right healthy choices for your body. In the last year, I've made some big life choices and huge lifestyle changes, and I couldn't be more happy with myself. I still have a long way to go on this journey, and I'm not giving up.

#tbt to finishing different races this year! I've done one race per month for the last four months and plan to do it for a full year. It started in April with the Inflatable 5k, May with the BolderBoulder 10k, June with the Spartan Race, and July with the Angel Fire Adventure 5k. This week I am running the CASA Superhero 5k. I am in the worst shape for this run because I've taken off from running for so long, but I'm ready to have some fun!

On the left, I remember being covered head to toe in a maxi and long sleeve cardi because I had to hide my body as much as possible, although it was summer in NYC, and I was hot AF. I still felt adorable that day and insisted Matt take a selfie with me.
The right picture was in a skimpy little dress, and I kept telling my friend 'No paparazzi!' because I was sure I couldn't look good in a natural, unposed photo.
It's funny how confidence works. I've gained the confidence to wear a short dress in the hot summer, but I've trained myself to believe that I can't look good in pictures. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pictures (esp. group pictures so I can hide in the back) because I love capturing memories. I love looking back at fun times and smiling at the thought, but selfies are different to me. This Instagram has pushed me out of my comfort zone so much. Trying to post a picture daily has taught me to be a little less camera shy. I love my followers and how supportive you are to me and each other! Thank you for being so awesome!

Perfect morning post-workout breakfast! The @eas milk chocolate shake is sooo dang good! I like the other flavors too, but I just love this one. I personally don't often eat bars unless I'm just wanting to chew my food, but Matt eats bars almost daily. Sometimes ya just get in a 'chew my food' type of mood though. This week's #motivationmonday is about tracking your progress by pictures instead of just by the scale. When I first began my journey, I would take progress pictures every two weeks. My body changes more slowly now so I have switched it to once a month. Sometimes the scale just won't budge which can be really discouraging when I'm busting my butt daily, but when I go back to the pictures I took 6 months ago, or even just last month, I feel proud of how hard I've been working. These are my most recent pictures. They motivate me in two big ways. I can see all of the progress I've made, and I can highlight the areas I really want to focus on. It helps me to set goals but also pat myself on the back. So this month try to take some progress pictures either in the mirror or with your accountability partner.
