The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, along with Prince William and Prince William spent the day supporting World Mental Health Day through their Heads Together initiative. She wore a pretty crepe floral dress for the occasion by a new designer.

It was her first official engagement since returning home from the Cambridge family's royal tour of Canada last month. Along with her husband and brother-in-law, Kate spent World Mental Health Day listening to personal stories from inspiring individuals who have helped others cope with mental health issues, and those whose lives were changed due to critical support from someone they loved in a time of need.

All three royals stood up to speak, with William kicking it off: "Mental health is not a dirty word – we all have mental health like we do physical health, good or ill. But not seeking help at those times when it all seems too much, or we are depressed or anxious, can impact the rest of our lives. Put simply, the three of us want to make asking for help no longer a big deal."

Kate later agreed, that "William, Harry and I feel it is our duty to do what we can, with your help, to shine a spotlight on emotional wellbeing and highlight the support that is out there to prevent or manage the pain at difficult times."

Meeting with a few of the charities supported by Heads Together prior to a trip up on the London Eye, Kate wore the Encore Rose Chiffon Dress from Kate Spade. It retails for $498 and is available in all sizes on both KateSpade.com and Nordstrom.

She paired the look with her suede Gianvito Rossi pumps in Praline, and carried her LK Bennett Nina clutch.

It's no question that a lot of thought goes into every outfit the Duchess wears -- she wore red a few times in Canada as a nod to the host country, jewelry by Canadian designers, and a brooch of a maple leaf -- and we can't help but feel the soft floral of today's dress was on purpose, too. It's a welcoming, demure pattern, and it doesn't take away from the focus of the day.

Heads Together aims to "change the conversation" around and end the stigma of mental illness, and make it so that people would have the same reaction to someone telling them "I broke my ankle," as they would to that individual saying "I have depression."
