Ramen ice cream is a thing you can eat

If you thought the ramen burger was a weird mash-up, that's got nothing on ramen ice cream.

Now before you start picturing noodles in your dessert or noodle-flavored creme, that's not quite right.

The ramen ice cream, which you can get at The Dessert Kitchen in New York City, is really crushed ice covered in evaporated milk and traditional jelly noodles made from algae.

They're then served over a bed of cantaloupe, mango, crushed ice and topped with a white peach syrup.

So it's a bit like those jello molds in the fruit in them, only kind of just mixed together, and, also, there's algae involved.

If that's too scary or if you take one bite and realize ramen and ice cream doesn't go together like peanut butter and jelly, the dessert shop's menu has something for everyone to walk away happy with.
