Anthony Bourdain names the most 'underrated' US cities for food

Anthony Bourdain is the definition of a global citizen -- he's been everywhere and back again.

In case you didn't know, he hosts a travel show on CNN called "Parts Unknown" where he goes around eating and drinking with locals and giving viewers a little taste of what's going on in that country or city.

He's a food connoisseur, so when he recommends something, we take it to heart.

Bourdain was recently asked during a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" about which cities in the United States he thinks are the most underrated when it comes to food.

He says that they are Minneapolis, Minnesota, Asheville, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee.

Then he continued with Charleston -- and actually, Los Angeles, California.

That one seemed odd considering it's the second biggest city in the country -- but if Bourdain says it's overlooked, we'll hear him out.

"I think Los Angeles is wildly underrated; it was famous for years and appreciated for its strip mall food, it's Korean and Mexican and Latino food. But man, some of the restaurants that have been opening in the last 10 years are really really good."
