Updated

A new report has researched the antibiotics in the meat supply of some of the largest fast food restaurants in the U.S.

Out of 25 chains, 16 received a failing grade.

Panera Bread and Chipotle received the highest grades for the second year in a row.

Both restaurants serve a wide variety of meat options that do not use antibiotics.

Chains like KFC, Starbucks and Burger King all received failing grades.

The scorecard grades restaurants on their antibiotic policies & practices, as well as their transparency regarding their meat and poultry supply chains.

Twice the number of restaurants got a passing grade this year compared to last. Researchers suggest this is because of consumer and investor pressure.

The CDC named antibiotic resistance as one of the top 5 health threats facing the U.S. each year.

Experts believe that the widespread use of antibiotics in the food supply is creating drug-resistant superbugs.

These are just more substantial reasons to watch what you eat.
