Puppy on the brink of death is totally transformed by love
Libre, a gentle Boston terrier puppy, is a true survivor.
After battling severe mange, infections and emaciation, he is on the road to recovery and getting stronger every day.

According to The York Dispatch, the little guy was saved by a delivery truck driver who spotted him several times at a dog-breeding farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The driver was so concerned for his well-being, he convinced the owners to let him take the dog on July 4 to get medical attention.
Janine Guido, founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, named him Libre, which means freedom, on Independence Day.
"He was emaciated, dehydrated and limp," Guido told BarkPost. "I have never in my life seen a dog this close to death. He was literally clinging to life the first time I laid eyes on him."
With the around-the-clock help of the staff at Dillsburg Veterinary Center, Libre started to make small steps towards recovery every day.
Two months later, Libre is unrecognizable and has found his forever home with Guido.
Little Libre has even inspired a movement to change Pennsylvania's animal cruelty laws. Senator Richard Alloway is sponsoring Libre's Law, which will better define animal neglect and create stiffer penalties for offenders.
A petition supporting the legislation has over 8,000 signatures online so far.
Libre may have had a rough start to life, but his incredible story may help ensure other dogs like him get the justice they deserve.
