Man dives into muddy hole to save an adorable trapped pup

Our pets are often a part of our family, and we'd do anything for them -- but what about an animal we don't know? One man proved that it didn't matter, and went above and beyond for another person's pup.

A Spaniel named Jazz was helping his owner, Karen da Rosa, hunt for birds when she took a wrong turn and got trapped in a pipe.

De Rosa became worried, and the employees at Invermark Estate in Scotland -- where she and Jazz were out hunting -- searched for her dog. When gamekeeper Jonny Stevenson discovered that she was trapped in a pipe, he did not hesitate to dive in to fetch her.

Stevenson spoke to magazine Shooting UK about the incident, saying, "It's never a nice feeling when a dog goes missing."

"Karen had resigned herself to her dog being lost due to the length of time she was missing," he continued "so once she was located it was a massive relief to everyone."

Stevenson and other gamekeepers dug through six feet to retrieve Jazz. De Rosa was really grateful, saying she, "couldn't thank the Invermark heroes enough for saving Jazz."

A statement attributed to Jazz was posted on Facebook. Like her owner, she was grateful for the rescue -- and appreciative of the love she was getting on social media.
