Identity of mystery couple captured in stunning Yosemite photo revealed

It was a picture-perfect evening last Thursday when Mike Karas was hiking with friends towards Taft Point at Yosemite National Park in California's Sierra Nevada mountains.

But when Karas stopped to take a quick Instagram photo of the gorgeous sunset, he snapped something that made the photo even more special: Two newlyweds, perfectly posed on a cliff's edge in the distance, staring into each other's eyes.

"It was surreal," he told NBC Bay Area. "We had seen the bride and groom walking down, but all of a sudden we saw them out on the ledge as we were shooting other photos and that 'Eureka!' moment just unfolded."

Having no way to share the incredible image with the mystery newlyweds, Karas took to social media to ask for help finding them.

HIs search for the couple ended quickly - thanks to the help of the internet, the couple in the photo was quickly identified as Catherine Mack and Rick Donald!

With the couple's blessing, Karas shared one more gorgeous photo he snapped of them posing on the far away cliff, crediting the pair's official wedding photographers, Taylor Mccutchan and Derek Copenhaver, and suggesting people check out their accounts as well.

Karas says he is currently in touch with Mack, and will be sending her more photos he took for their own personal use.

"Congratulations again to Catherine and Rick," he said to end his sweet post. "And I hope you two have an amazing honeymoon!"
