Usually, you might try to look your best on school picture day. You might be nervous, because the photo will stick with you the rest of the year.

One high school student in Oregon, however, went in an entirely different direction -- and the result is amazing.

17-year-old Kyra Dela Chica, a senior at Oregon's Aloha High School, decided to dress up like The Matchmaker from the classic Disney film Mulan. She posted the photos on Twitter:

Dela Chica's Mulan recreation immediately went viral, garnering thousands of retweets and likes. Dela Chica spoke to Buzzfeed News about the fun photos: "Once the makeup was on, I moved my way to the pictures station and lined up," she said.

One worker laughed, but another was speculative. She asked Dela Chica if school administrators would be okay with it; the teen said she would retake her ID photo if she had to.

The senior, who is also the senior class president, did not expect the photos to get the attention it has. "To be honest, when I posted it on Instagram [and] on Twitter I thought my Instagram would be the only thing getting notifications," she said.

"Next thing you know random people are quoting my tweets calling me a hero/savage/queen."
