Couples that have stood the test of time often share a bond that transcends typical connections.

Henry and Jeanette De Lange of Platte, South Dakota were among them.

After 63 years of marriage, the two passed away within 20 minutes of one another, reports KSFY.

Jeanette, 87, had been suffering from Alzheimer's and was placed in a nursing home in 2011.

Her husband, Henry, 86, visited her daily despite his ongoing struggle with prostate cancer.

As his condition worsened, he, too, required constant care, and joined Jeanette in the same room.

On July 31, their children were notified that Henry and Jeanette didn't have much time left.

The kids stood by the parents in their final moments, and, after Jeanette passed, one of them told Henry, "mom's gone to heaven. You don't have to fight anymore, you can go too if you want."

Minutes later, Henry joined her.
