Making the leap from the social media world to the realm of traditional on-screen acting can be very tricky. Especially if you're coming into your acting career with very minimal experience. Yet for Amanda Steele, when she decided to test out a new career, she found that she had a knack for drama. That natural ability turned into stints on two go90 series, "Guidance" and "Inside Woman," and has since blossomed into a newfound passion for Steele. To date, she's one of the select few social media stars who have made that career leap with relative ease.

And don't worry fans of MakeupbyMandy24 (Steele's viral YouTube channel with over 2.8 million subscribers), your favorite beauty tutorials aren't going anywhere.

We recently spoke to Amanda Steele to talk about her progression into the acting space, the actress that she looks up to the most, and the products that she cannot live without.

When did you first decide to make the shift into acting?
I always was interested in it but I wasn't sure if I would be awkward or weird doing it. It made sense though because I was YouTubing on camera, so I went into Awesomeness TV and I said that I was interested in auditioning for any role to see how it works. I also tried working with an acting coach to see how I flowed with it. And the first time I sat down with my acting coach, I just loved it so much. I felt like I was getting so deep with my emotions. And I loved getting to experience the personalities of someone else. So it was a great first time being on set, having all my efforts go into one big project and having it come out to such a great reception. So I'm really excited to start working on something new.

What projects do you hope to be working on soon? Do you see yourself continuing on with drama?
I'm very much open to trying out everything and seeing what fits me best, like how I did when I first auditioned. But I think that dramas would make more sense for me. I feel like my mind is more geared towards thinking very deep and emotionally, so it's my strong suit. I don't know about comedies; I think if I did a comedy they would cast me as a stereotypical mean girl and that's something that's not as interesting to me. So I'd love to do more dramas, and even sci-fis too.

What actors or actresses inspire you?
I really like ChloΓ« Grace Moretz because she's young and funny and she's really great at what she does. She's great at comedy and drama. I think her work is awesome. And also Jennifer Lawrence because she's hilarious and talented, she also refuses to conform to anything.

What's the one beauty hack you swear by?
I'd say setting spray. It's simple but I'll put it on my face and then put primer. Then I'll spray setting spray multiple times throughout my makeup look so that it sticks all day.

What are three products you can't live without?
I can't live without concealer; I really love the Tarte contour. It has tons of coverage and still looks natural, which is something that's really important to me. There's a new brow pencil from Benefit and that's what I've been using recently. It's so so good and easy to make a beautiful natural brow with it. Other products make it too harsh or it's hard to use. And I love the Rosebud lip balm and I always have to have that on me.

What do you think is the biggest beauty mistake most people make?
I think a lot of people struggle with eyebrows because there's a lot of ways to do it and everyone's eyebrow shapes are different. So it's hard to copy someone else's video. It's all about making sure that you don't go over the top and that you keep everything natural. That tends to fit most people best.
