When it comes to weird and wacky foods, a state fair should be your first stop. Some of the latest weird foods make fried pickles look like a dinner-time staple.

The State Fair of Texas stands out the most, and they seem to be following the motto: if it can be battered, it can be fried.

Their options include fried beer, fried butter and fried ice cream.

If you're wondering what on earth fried beer even looks like, picture a piece of fried ravioli.

The Minnesota State Fair is also on a quest to deep fry just about everything under the sun as they fry up sushi. It sounds delicious, but keep in mind that it's Spam sushi. Yes, Spam, as in, from a can.

Spam must be a Minnesota staple, because they also offer deep fried Spam curds. Even served with a side of Ranch, these sound like a bit of a risk.

The Minnesota State Fair also takes "salty and sweet" to a whole new level with candied bacon doughnut sliders. These delights are exactly what they sound like. The artery-clogging dessert combines candied bacon into a mini-doughnut sandwich, drizzled in chocolate red wine ganache.

Want to combine your love of sandwiches and deep fried food? Look no further than the deep-fried grilled cheese bites. They're basically mini-grilled cheese sandwiches, and pair awesomely with tomato dip.

Then again, you might be watching your weight and limiting your carb intake. You can opt for a Reuben pickle dog. It's got all the fixings of a Reuben sandwich, without the bread!

Ok, so perhaps trying to stick to your diet while at a fair is pointless.
