Travel makeup ideas for spring

By: Refined Side

One of the best ways that we can spend our time on this beautiful planet is to travel. The experience of visiting new and intriguing places is a great way to broaden the mind and revive the spirit. However, the practicalities of being a global traveller can be a little more taxing. With a nightmarish arrangement of security checks at airports, and a frustrating limitation on the baggage that you can take with you, the most pressing issue facing the modern traveller is often how to pack!

And as you'll want to make sure that you are looking totally glamorous in your holiday pictures, you'll need to be fairly forward thinking when it comes to packing your makeup so as to avoid taking your entire makeup collection with you!

So here's a quick checklist of holiday scenarios and the likely makeup that they might require.

The Beach Paradise:

For the perfect beach makeup, just remember that less is more! A touch of waterproof mascara can go a long way, and some bright nail polish will add a sense of fun to your beachside look. Just remember to stay away from powders and foundations that will most likely end up melting off or caking up!

Glamorous Casino Nights

At some point in our lives, many of us will feel the urge to get blinged-up and head to the glitz and the glamour of the casino resort. Whether it be in the decadent confines of Las Vegas or even the exclusive playground of Monaco, the emphasis will be on making an impact!

So don't be shy of taking inspiration from Eva Green in the film Casino Royale with a flawless foundation, some Mac Frankly Scarlett powder blush and of course lots of mascara and smoky eye makeup courtesy of Mac Eye Kohl. And if you fancy getting a bit of practice in, try it at home whilst perfecting your casino skills online with!

Big City Chic:

The romantic weekend away is a great way to travel. Many European cities are relatively cheap to fly to, and the cities of Paris, Vienna and Amsterdam all conjure up images of chic sophistication. So the trick to making sure that you fit in in these epicenters of culture is to not try too hard!

Make sure that you can withstand the bright lights of the city by applying a layer of foundation of course, but stay fresh faced and keep your eye-shadow light with neutral shades that'll leave you just enough room to manoeuvre with some craftily-placed dark eyeliner and some blissfully provocative deep red lipstick.
