Clumpy mascara: No longer a beauty faux pas?

Perfection is overrated -- especially when it comes to your lashes. Though beauty companies have spent billions marketing magic wands that lengthen, separate, and curl in one swipe, the thought of fattening up our fringe with loads of mascara is more appealing than ever. Model Mica Arganaraz made a case for spider lashes on the cover of i-D's winter cover, as did Maud Welzen in a recent editorial for Harper's Bazaar Germany.

And Cara Delevingne posted a close-up to Instagram (alongside a feline friend) that showed off clogged lashes like the kind seen on the catwalk at Prada's Fall 2014 show and Rochas' runway for Spring. To get the look, we're taking a backstage tip from makeup pro Lucia Pieroni and piling on the mascara (making sure to heavily coat the roots) and gently pinching fringe together to form "petallike" clusters.
