What to expect from magazine covers in 2014
Kim Kardashian: The reality star's April Cosmopolitan cover was the magazine's biggest seller of the year.
Lauren Conrad: Her Marie Claire and Lucky covers were both magazines' second-biggest sellers of 2013.
Blake Lively: The actress may not have many projects to promote, but she still covered the best-selling issues of both Lucky and People StyleWatch this year.
Drew Barrymore: Her InStyle cover this September was a huge hit.
Jennifer Lawrence: She covered the all-important September issue of Vogue - not only a huge honor, but a big seller as well.
Jennifer Aniston: A perennial hot seller, the actress was the cover star of Glamour's September issue.
As for who didn't sell so well? Jennifer Lopez's Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar issues flopped, as did covers featuring Jessica Biel, Heidi Klum and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - which largely explains why American titles rarely feature models on their covers.
In 2014, Adweek expects more of the same – Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian are getting married this year, which will only gain them more media attention - and InStyle's Ariel Foxman adds that Kerry Washington (who covered Elle, Glamour and Vanity Fair this year) and Shailene Woodley are two cover stars to watch in 2014.
