Ritz to roll out cracker-flavored ice cream with Coolhaus

They might just be cracking up.

Ritz Crackers will team up with Coolhaus to churn up a limited-edition cracker-flavored ice cream available next month, the food brands said Thursday.

The unlikely ice cream flavor, set to hit digital shelves on Sept. 9, represents Ritz’s first time dipping into the frozen dairy business. The new treat is called Crackers & Cream.

“Crackers & Cream features a decadent peanut butter ice cream base marbled with a crispy, golden” cracker swirl, rendering a “perfectly balanced sweet and salty treat that will make your taste buds sing,” a fact sheet for the new flavor promised.

Though the heterodox mix might prove a turnoff to some, past summers have seen zanier entries to the ice cream oddity genre. French’s teamed up with Coolhaus to introduce a mustard-flavored ice cream a year ago in an possible condi-miss.

No matter how the Ritz flavor turns out, some sweet-toothed cracker lovers seem a sure bet to bite.
