Bulleit Bourbon unveils limited-edition 3D printed sneakers with artist Kyle Steed

Bulleit Bourbon is the latest brand to tap into sneaker culture.

The Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey recently unveiled the first-ever 3D-printed sneaker, designed by Dallas-based street artist Kyle Steed, as part of its ongoing Frontier Works project.

"The sneaker and mural designs represent the community of artists, designers and leaders in tech and innovation who come together to push the boundaries of the cultural frontier," artist partner Kyle Steed said in the official press release. "When we talk about innovation, it's just as much about human connection as it is technology. Where we are many parts ourselves as individuals, only by coming together as a community of creators and innovators can we make something bigger," he continued.

The limited-edition 3D-printed sneaker took about 200 hours to develop and 12 days to print, the brand says. The art on the sneaker, created by Steed and manufactured by Tangible Creative, was a visual imagining of what it means to be on the Frontier of culture, according to Steed. The bold and colorful geometric sneaker design represents Steed's passion for diversity and inclusion in the art community.

“When we talk about innovation, it’s just as much about human connection as it is technology. Where we are many parts ourselves as individuals, only by coming together as a community of creators and innovators can we make something bigger," says Steed.

A limited amount of sneakers from the project will be available for purchase to anyone over 21 online via Sneaker Politics.

This new and inventive sneaker isn't the first cutting-edge project Bulleit has unveiled, however. The brand has partnered with other creatives disrupting the status quo to create the world's largest tattoo billboard, one of the first 3D printed cocktails and remodeling iconic neon signs.
