American Express has acquired dining app Resy -- Here are the benefits for Card Members

The biggest benefit of having a credit card is being able to cash in on the hundreds of rewards you're eligible for through points you accumulate.

One of the best ways to spend these points? In the area of fine dining, of course!

American Express is known for offering some of the best advantages for Card Members when it comes to hotspots and dishes in the restaurant industry, and the company's latest acquisition of popular restaurant reservation app, Resy, is about to propel those benefits for Members even further.

The new partnership will grant American Express Card Members in the U.S. a whopping 500 Membership Rewards points when they make a reservation through Resy from August 15 through September 30.

Members can cash in on the points up to three times during this period and earn 500 points per each reservation.

The new partnership will also grant American Express Card Members early access to reservations at top restaurants during Resy's popular Off Menu Week in NYC (starting August 19) which will take place from September 16 to September 22.

American Express Card Members will also have exclusive and pre-sale access to tickets and reservations to additional programming put on by Resy, such as 'The Women of Food' which showcases top, innovative female chefs and partners them with someone of their choice to talk about gender equality in the hospitality industry.

This fall's events will serve merely as the starting point for all that is to come in the months ahead following the finalization of the acquisition -- and we'll be hungrily waiting for more reasons to swipe our cards!
