Report: Kylie Jenner is officially the world's youngest self-made billionaire ever

Whether you know her as a reality star, mother or social media influencer, Kylie Jenner’s rocking a new title that’s sure to grab everyone’s attention — The world's youngest self-made billionaire ever.

At only 21 years old, Kylie Jenner has officially reached $1 billion net worth status, Forbes reported Tuesday, snatching the title from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (who was 23 when he hit the same milestone.)

Jenner’s namesake makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, made a whopping $307 million in sales during its first year on the market in 2015, with the brand's original lip kits selling out online almost instantly.

Revenue for Kylie Cosmetics grew an estimated 9 percent in 2018 to $360 million, and by the end of the year, the company had reached a $900 million valuation.

Forbes attributes much of this growth to Jenner’s partnership with Ulta stores that began in August of last year.

Though sales growth stunted to single-digit numbers in both 2017 and 2018, per Forbes, its Jenner’s business strategy (read: budgeting and low-number expenditures) that have helped Kylie Cosmetics continue to profit — and profit massively.

Forbes reports that Jenner keeps a tight team of seven full-time and five part-time employees, with finance and PR handled by her mom-ager, Kris Jenner, for a small 10 percent management fee.

Manufacturing and packaging of all Kylie Cosmetics products are outsourced to Oxnard, California-based Seed Beauty.

Jenner also outsources sales and fulfillment operations through her third-party online merchant, Shopify.

And as for marketing and promotion, Jenner’s following speaks for itself — what better way to show off your products than to rock them in selfies and photoshoots in front of your 175 million-plus social media followers?

As Forbes coined it, Jenner truly is the world’s ‘first selfie-made billionaire.’
