Crowds mob Texas ATM where $100 bills were being accidentally distributed

Updated

Everything is bigger in Texas — including the bills distributed by ATMs, apparently.

One Bank of America ATM in north Harris County, Texas was accidentally shelling out $100 bills instead of the $20 bills customers were trying to withdraw early Monday morning.

Unsurprisingly, crowds and cars began to line up because in the true spirit of the holiday season, why settle for $20 when you can exploit a faulty ATM for $100s?

The Harris County Sheriff’s office came to disperse crowds off of Interstate 45 following a tip-off call and quickly shut down the scene.

In a statement, Bank of America acknowledged the incident and left customers with a surprisingly lucky solution:

"This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills. We have resolved the matter. Customers will be able to keep the additional money dispensed."

Talk about some post-Turkey Day good fortune!
