Jersey Shore woman goes viral after finding maggots inside her Dunkin' Donuts order -- Watch the disturbing footage

America runs on … maggots?

Looks like this was the case for one Brick, New Jersey resident who encountered a very unfortunate, (and very buggy) experience when she ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich at her local Dunkin’ Donuts down the Jersey Shore on October 18.

Krystie Platzer visited a Dunkin’ in Lakewood, New Jersey where she allegedly received a bacon, egg and cheese croissant that was covered in flies, worms and larvae (That did, in fact, hatch, for all those anxiously inquiring!)

Platzer posted photos of the incident on her Facebook page which have since gone viral:

“I got live and hatching maggots, dead flies in a bacon egg and cheese and my baby ate the same one before I got home to see this,” the post reads.

The " baby" she is referring to is her 3-year-old son, per information reported by the Asbury Park Press.

“CHECK YOUR FOOD PEOPLE. This is what makes us sick with parasites.”

As if the cringe-inducing photos from Platzer weren’t enough, a separate Facebook video posted by Jocelyn Jones shows disturbing footage of larvae hatching in what appears to be the kitchen of a Dunkin' Donuts in Whitehall, Pennsylvania:

"WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO THEY HAVE MAGGOTS," Jones captioned the video. "ALSO WATCH KRYSTALE PLATZERS POST WHO IS TAGGED."

According to the Asbury Park Press, Dunkin’ Donuts spokeswoman, Olivia White, released this statement regarding Platzer's post and incident:

“We take matters such as this very seriously. The franchisee who owns and operates the store has confirmed he has met with the guest to resolve the matter and apologize for the poor experience."

We’re not sure about you but it’s probably going to take a lot more than an apology to fix this one -- You know, maybe an extra 25 count box of Munchkins wouldn't hurt.
