Crystal Head Vodka is making a one-of-a-kind change to its label

Updated

The alcohol industry is an ever-changing and extremely competitive business -- but Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head Vodka has withstood the test of time and is making quite a name for itself.

The brand, which prides itself on being one of the few 'untouched' vodkas in the world, was founded by Aykroyd and his longtime friend and fellow artist John Alexander. And although the two had little to no prior experience running a liquor business, a decade later, their learned acumen and high-quality product has earned them some of the top accolades in the world.

To celebrate Crystal Head's 10-year anniversary, the duo, along with their third business partner, decided to shake up the spirits industry with their latest project: a limited-edition bottle, the John Alexander Artist Series Bottle. The one-of-a-kind label is the rendering of a 1988 oil painting ‘Dancing on the Water Liles of Life,’ currently on display in the Dallas Museum of Art. The 25,000 highly-coveted bottles, which were all were crafted to mock the shape and size of a human skull, were created by highly skilled craftsmen from Milan, Italy and then numbered to further emphasize the novelty. There are less than 5,000 will be available for purchase in the United States.

While Aykroyd and Alexander are extremely proud, and sometimes in disbelief, of the impact they've made in the alcohol business, they credit their success to one thing: creativity.

The John Alexander Artist Series No.1 bottle will be available in 750 mL format with a SRP of $149.95.
