Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner, which means summer and vacation season are also underway.

For many, the extended three-day weekend is a time to fire up the grill and host a BBQ and for others, the holiday is a time to relax and catch the National Memorial Day parade on TV. But for a select few, the time is reserved for vacation. Last year, 39.3 million Americans planned on traveling -- and from that pool of travelers, 88.1 percent drove to their destination.
