Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified before Congress on Tuesday in the wake of a privacy scandal that has impacted millions of Facebook users.
The internet mogul began a joint hearing of the Senate Commerce and Judiciary Committees at 2:15 p.m. ET.
Zuckerberg faced the outrage over how the political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica improperly harvested personal data of about 87 million Facebook users, most of them Americans, and how Russians used the social media platform to spread political propaganda during the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
