Tiger Woods is driving up 2018 Masters ticket prices

Updated

Tiger Woods' comeback this season has fans energized -- and has made many willing to pay thousands to see him play at the 2018 Masters.

Following top-five finishes in his last two PGA Tour events, the four-time Masters Tournament champion is set to tee off at Augusta National as this year's favorite, causing badge prices to sky-rocket.

“Tiger has always had an effect on prices,” TickPick.com sales agent Kyle Zorn told the Augusta Chronicle.

Zorn said secondary-ticket prices of Thursday's badge are 77 percent higher than last year's, selling for $3,653. As of Wednesday, the four-day tournament badges available on StubHub are listed for at least $9,450.

If Woods is still in contention on Sunday, the price of that day's badge will "go through the roof," the ticket sales agent added.
