Here's how to score a free glass of champagne this Valentine's Day

Updated

Whether you’re single or taken this Valentine’s Day, one thing is pretty universal — alcohol is indeed on the docket for February 14.

And some states will be drinking more than others — A new study from mobile-shopping app Ibotta found that within the two weeks before Valentine’s Day in 2016 and 2017, the state of Vermont purchased the most champagne per resident.

The perfect gift for every kind of Valentine:

The state that did the most wine-ing? Florida.

The study also found that Valentine’s Day chocolate is a whopping six percent cheaper on February 8 (six days before the holiday) than it is on the actual holiday, so you last-minute gift purchasers may want to plan ahead next year.

And out of all this chocolate purchased, Oklahoma was the state with the biggest sweet tooth.

But no matter where you find yourself in the country next Wednesday, there’s one Valentine’s Day-inspired treat you won’t have to pay for yourself — a glass of champagne.

Yes, really!

To score one, all you have to do is download the mobile shopping app Ibotta, tap the “Champagne Toast” rebate in the app and upload a picture of your receipt — Ibotta will automatically give you $5 to celebrate whatever the love of your life may be, even if it’s just plain old champagne.

So whether you’re cheers-ing to your beau, bestie or best self, the one thing we can all agree on loving is a cold glass of bubbly.
